    Hey guys
question- i have a 526 cu in chevy with an 8-71 littlefield blower running 7.50s in a 2700lb nova with me in it. I put 36 runs on the motor and had it freshened up so far this winter. how often should a blower be rebuilt and gone through? and what would the cons be to not doing it often enough? And what should this cost to be rebuilt?

Cost of a rebuild runs about $350,
That's restrip, seals, check timing, gaskets, etc
How often, depends on what you are trying to achieve

well im planning on running midwest top sportsman locally. im still learning the car so trying to get every ounce of power out of it is not a concern. im not concerned with keeping parts safe while im learning to drive this since its my first blower car. and definately my fastest car. im just curious if it should be rebuilt more for power or parts breaking. if i dont need to rebuild, reliability wise, it i dont really care to have it done.

    Fwiw . . . . . .

This is not for racers with fuel checks as a requirement to compete, but for YEARS, we have run a slug of Blendzall Gold Label as an additive to our methanol (and other prime fuels) with great results and added life to the fuel pumps and blowers.

Got about 5oz. of Castor with the rest being some sort of Nitro Propane / Nitro Parafin something or other in each pint.

The fuel pump / fuel shutoff stays nicer, plus the inside of the blower takes on a really nice, oily deposit that can only keep the moving (or sliding) parts alive longer and the clearances more consistent.

For your normal bracket or Top classes, the added pump / blower life is great.

    And it smell really nice . . . .

    Take care, K
