Looking for some feedback from people using torco tr-1 60 in blown motors.Always run a blown chevvy and had good luck with brad penn, but its getting very expensive here in australia.Ive gone to a blown hemi now and can get a good deal off the torco agent but didnt want to go to an inferior oil based on cost alone if indeed it is inferior? Running a dry sump with 20 litres a pass ,oil becomes expensive but the motor is the major concern. Any opinions/ experience is appreciated.

We run LUCAS in our 521BAE. I mix 50 and 70 , with great results. We always warm the oil before start up , and keep it warm between rounds too.

    Good luck Wayne

    torco verses redline

we used to run redline and it was truley amazing. However it was really only of value if something went wrong as it would let things live for longer with no oil pressure. It still gets milked up with methanol so we ended up using mineral oil and changing it more frequently. Still run redline in our 9" and I wont dare tell you how long its been in there !

    Torco v brad penn

Were not throwing it away each run but drain it every pass and fill with another 20 litres, each 20 will get about 3 passes on it.I had read some reports on other sites where chemists had rated the torco low but wanted some real life experiences with it before deciding.Other than assembly greases and pushrod lubes torco isnt that big in australia yet and is still reasonably priced compared to brad penn.
