In a brad block with .904 lifters when the tolerances get to far out , could you just bore it to .937 lifters . Why would it have to go right to the top fuel lifter. Has anybody ever done this . Is it even worth going this route . Surely I'm not the only person to think of this .

Why wouldnt you just bush it? Then you can just replace the bushing if it ever gets out of tolerence again. If your interested, give me a call:

On Chevys some guys bronze bush the block from brand new or wait till they're wore out then bush them back to size.

What tells you that there is a problem? do you measure the clearance? do you get metal transfer to the lifter?

Coincedently, I just discovered one of our engines has metal buildup on the lifters which for me in the past means its time to bush the block, except this block doesn't have that many runs on it so I'm looking for other ways to know.
