I have heard of people building 522 cid...i think some are going that route in ADRL because the short deck motor is 26 lbs lighter than a .100 tall. You have to watch clearances and have rods made for tight clearance.

Hard to say without knowing what you consider a safe rod/stroke ratio is. With a 1.35ish compression height and a 6.68 rod, you could squeeze a 4.375 crank in it, for a 526, but like Will said, you'll need special profiled rods and probably counterweights cut down, which means more Mallory. R/S ratio in the 1.53 range, I know that wouldn't scare a lot of people but wouldn't be something I would build. I like D. Johnsons suggestion on the 4.15, guess a lot depends on what compression height piston you start out with. Mine are 1.428 Arias fuel head alky shelf pistons, but I'm sure a custom blower piston can go a lot less.
