My Chevy loads up with fuel at idle. I've leaned the hat out to 1000 deg egts and the rear of the blower gets warm. It launches a big fog of alky at the hit and then runs good.I've been told some people have the plate completely opened up or drilled so the fuel doesn't puddle on top of it.
I was thinking fuel was puddling in my poorly designed intake manifold but the plate would be a lot easier to work on.
This is an auto promod and the only reason I want to fix this is so I can use an airthrottle again. It dropped cylinders so I got on the 2 step bandwagon. The 2 step has been hard on parts but it does go fast.
The hemis seem to stay lit with the fuel puddle better than my wedge.
    thanks for any thoughts.

BBC and a PSI screw blower

Craig, I have been running a BBC and a psi screw blower for a few years now, Hay do not screw with the mid plate under the blower!!! been there done that!!! the only way I have been able to stop dropping cylinders at the hit is to run 2 port nozzles per cylinder, and the 4 hat nozzles. If you would like to talk call me any time on my cell 707 974 3185 or drop me a PM here on ITA.

    Thanks again

    psi

    We've talked before Butch.
IMO it's not a nozzle issue. I've heard of guys completely disconnecting #2 hose and it still blasts fuel out the pipe on the two step.
My car only does it for a split second and clears up..as do a lot of hemi cars.
If the tree is slow it works. if the tree goes quick it will drop #2 occassionally because it didn't clear out.
There are fast guys with the stock PSI plate and very fast guys with the plate/manifold blown out huge.
The chevy will not eat as much fuel at idle as a hemi and I think the Indy manifold tends to make things even worse.

have you put the 2 step on your car? we have and it works well and we have not hurt any parts yet? what are you using to control the fuel at stage?

    hat checks

Do you have checks in 2 of the nozzles in the blower? If you don't have checks in 2 of them, it can be hard to get it to idle right.

You can still run a solenoid to lean it out at stage with the air throttle if you think fuel flow at stage is the problem with the air throttle.
