HI guys I would like some opinions on a electric fuel pump set up. . I run a 67 Camaro for fun. I converted to E-85, 489 chevy with a roots 8-71 30% overdriven and 2 850 boost referenced carbs w/97 jets . What type of volume and line size would you recomend? I started melting plugs last night at Quaker City and I might have done some internal damage. I believe by the melted ground electrodes that I am running lean. one plug came our with what looks like aluminum fused to the porcelan...
    Thanks

Yes carbs updated, I have a mechanical carter race pump speced at 170 GPH. Boost referenced because I run a powervalve to allow additional flow. through the PVCR also enlarged.

Is the fuel pressure regulator boost referenced?

You use a boost referenced regulator with carbs? Can you adjust the incremental pressure in fine increments?

We don't boost reference the carb motors except blow through. Ask the carb builder.

Yup, the boost reference kind of had me scratching my head.
The OPs issue is lack of fuel for sure. Probably was on the edge on straight gas.

What is really needed here is the double Needle and seat bowls to go along with more pump and return style regulation. It's been a long time since I fooled with racing carbs on a blower so take it for what it's worth but the jets seem kind of small, even for ethanol.

Back in the day I used to take the PV out of the dominators and plug the vent hole in the pv cavity just to get a few CCs more of fuel capacity. I also had to run 3 holley blues side by side to feed 2 dominators with return regulation. Big fancy pumps didn't exist then. I eventually got around to making bowl spacers. This was in a RED and there was a reason to go carbs but it escapes me now as to why. Some odd class I suppose.
Then I woke up and went back to injection.

I guess I will say it first. Quit screwing around and get an injection on there. You can thank us later.
