I run in the 6.60 range with 1.0 sixty's, monoshock dragster converter powerglide.

Hoosier recommended 18780 or 18790. said i would really have to try both to know which worked best for my application.

typically the 780 is used on nitrous cars and the 790 is used on blowers, but in my case I am running about the same ets as nitrous cars. but I was thinking the 780 might work best for them because turn the nitrous on and off, but I am hitting mine every pass.

    what do you guys think?

I'd use the C2055 34.5/17.0/16 and buy them used off of a TA car for $100-200/set.

    take offs

I know they take them off becuase they beat the sidewalls out not wear them out. So would I need to be concerned that they may not perform consistently for me? Thought about the same thing just a little hesitant.

Do I need to have a set number of runs to take them off as well?

    thanks for input

That is the first I've ever heard of "beating the sidewalls off", I don't believe that. We for years, before we ran TAD, bought Snyder's takeoffs from his TAFC/TAD. We ran the first 5 second pass in top dragster with a set in 2007 maybe. He took his off at 8 runs, we take ours off at 12-15; they are still plenty good for a TD car esp. in the e.t. range you're looking at. I'd also recommend FormulaV Traction Compound. Roll them with it in the shop, wait ten mins or so, scrape them with a piece of alum; you'll be amazed at what you get off and how well the tires work after.

I wonder if Formula V falls under the new NHRA ban on chemically treating tires?
