Oil Rings

    If oil rings are bad will u get oil on top of valve?

    Normally you will see some smoke with bad oil rings.

    changed rods reused oil rings smoking real bad on number 1 & 3 checked rings not broke.Lot of oil in intake thought maybe intake gasket but looks sealed up.

    Check those cyl to make sure that the second rings are right side up...dimple toward the top. It will do that if they got flipped over during the re & re.

    The oil scraper rings may not look bad but it could be the expander is weak-------- did the pistons push out of the cylinder easily-------- or pushing in easily is your first clue.
