What's a good generator these days

Thinking of getting a new generator for the trailer. What is the better (and quieter) ones out there? I run an air conditioner, 3 outside lights (500 watts each), air compressor and the usual inside lights. Don't want to spend a fortune but don't want any junk. Any input would be greatly apreciated. it is hard to beat a onan that is what I have always used, we have a big one that is 28kw

I have an Onan 6500 now but it is from the Y2K scare so it's not all that quiet. I hate pissing the folks off that are next to us in the pits.

 

Just bought a Eu6500 Honda inverter VERY quiet, 220, etc...VERY happy w/it

I have a 12.5 kw diesel Onan. I love it. It is the quietest generator around. Onan makes a industrial version and a RV version and both are enclosed an very quiet. I originally bought it because I wanted a 220volt capability to run my tig welder at the track. My Honda RV generator was a good one but no 220 outlets. Dave Germain

just buy a quiet one and leave it on your side
not being hatefull but their needs to be a rule at each track
that you keep it on your side
i felt like a dick but i asked the guy next to me to start his
because i was going to move if it was loud or rattly
