Just wondering if anyone is running these conrods? the pricing seems ok, i know you seems to pay for what you get, i have been looking at LIGHTNING CONNECTING RODS, R&R, Venolia, BME, GRP there are so many choices these days, and different ways of making them, aircraft quality plate-cnc finished, forged-cnc finished, some companies running the direction of the grain in the material 90 horizotally on the cap and vertically on the beam......... lots of optionsi may be getting to far ahead od myself as im building a 1200-1400 hp engine but enjoy the research, please post opinions
also aluminium fatigue and rod life span? thats another debate but what would i expect arguement sacks my engine 1200-1400 HP max 7800-8000 rpm blown alcohol about 25 % over on a 6-71, 10:5:1 in a 116-inch wheelbase altered all aluminium engine 457 ci , but mild steel chassis so relatively light car.

thanks please post opinions. everyone has one

BME , they are a forged rod, never had one fail in 15 years, I replace after 50 runs. Cheap insurance

I run R&R... Im not so nice to them and have never had a rod or rod bearing related problem.

Very easy people to deal with also, thats counts for alot in my opinion.

BME here also. Never a problem and I've always found Bill super easy to talk/work with. Maybe I just happened to call him on good days but that's been my experience. Since I'm just a nobody that messes around with nostalgia dragsters, people like Bill that treat me well always impresses me.

Thats interesting... I'm currently putting together a 505 big block mopar and looking around for an altered chassis. Love FEDs but dragsters are a pain in the butt for an old guy like me. On top of getting old my shop is on the small side and an altered would fit so much better. LOL

hotrod you said mild steel chassis and someday running 7.0 pro unfortunately you will not be able to certify your chassis to run advanced ET. 7.60 will work though. As far as connecting rods I use GRP's in my mid 6 second small block chev
