I would swap feet and dead stick it..if you try and use a trans brake it might become very violent. I dead stick my with high 80's low 90's 60 foot running in the 5's in the 1/4

not to sound stupid here but what do you mean by dead stick it ? i assume you mean to basically foot brake the thing.not sure how it could be brought up on a constant launch rpm for consistancy.or do you mean basically hit the throttle from an idle at the first bulb on a protree ?

    Launch

I launch my ol turd around 3800. I do not pull any timing out and 60ft's are 1.00 to 1.03 in a 2700lb door car.1.80 Straight Cut Powerglide w/ 4.56's and 34.5 hoosiers. Good Luck and welcome to the dark side. ;-)

Leave at appox. 4000 rpms....trying to leave at idle will only flash the convertor and make it more violent. Try pulling 8 deg. at the hit and ramp back to full timing by 1.5 sec. you can pull a deg. or two at 5.00 sec. if you run the 1/4 just to make sure it's happy through the lights. If you can you need to keep the slip-joints tight or weld them closed....you won't need them open a 275 in car will flex enough not to need them working. My spitzer 275in slip joint hated being run loose. What class or group are you going to run with?
