I had a set of Veney/SSI heads the have the old Red Newberry style rocker stands. Never had an issue oiling on these heads. I recently bought a set of Veney 806 heads and the heads dont oil for squat. Also the exhaust pushrods seem to rub the head while the valve is on seat. The SSI heads never had that problem either. Anybody ever had those issues?

You may need to run an external feed line into the end of the rocker shaft, thats probably the best way, although I cut a larger groove in the #4 cam journal to feed more into the head internally. I know that supposedly takes pressure off of the #4 crank journal but I've never had any problems with it. On the pushrod deal, it depends a lot on how many threads are showing on your adjuster, the more you have, the more it moves the centerline of the adjuster ball down and pushes the pushrod into the edge. If you look at it from the front and watch as someone turns your engine over you can see the pushrod move upward, (into the center of the hole) during lift. I just recently had to get longer pushrods on an engine to correct this very problem.

I run the external oil lines to the back of the heads and have zero issues with my 2.600 heads , and the oil hole in the deck of the block is plugged . As far as the pushrods go , I use the Manton "Newberry taper" as Manton calls them and they are close but do not rub the heads . I always lube the adjusters before first startup of the day and no issues burning adjusters or cups .
