I Had three runs on the weekend and all three burnouts shook the steering wheel after burnout, checked over steering and all ok. anyone had similar issues.
I dropped tyre pressure from 34 to 30 and finally 28 each run, lowering the pressure seemed to help.

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks Stuart

    Steering damper is the key.

    check the toe adjustment

The front tires need to be toed in about 1/8". My car will do that very occasionally but never three runs in a row. I would suggest checking the toe in adjustment. I have no steering dampner. I have had cars with dampners in the past and still on occasion had the wobbles. Not saying they are a bad idea, just saying you may be able to fix it without installing one.

    good luck

The front tires are not grocery getters, they are race tires. All race tire mfg.'s recommend close to 50 psi. Stepping off throws weight onto the front tires, which then push to a "toe out" because the sidewalls are too soft. The rims are toed in and the tires go out! They are fighting each other.
Also, dead rod ends add to the problem. Pull the bolt out of the tie rod to feel the ball, if it spins in the housing, it's dead! Buy new teflon lined rod ends.

With Bob on this one. But usually on my cars it is something that has gotten loose. Rod Ends first, King Pins, Steering Box even sometimes the Quick Release Hub. Normally something loose or worn.

Bob and Kurt are the experts, but I will share my experience too. I have found that if the spindle is laid back at too much of an angle, the tire wobble will happen frequently. When I have built new a-arms for a funny car, I dont go over 15 degrees, always seems to work great.

I have this problem in my altered too. I put all new rod ends, new steering box. Set the toe at 3/16 and still does it. I have never heard the 50 psi for the front runners before. I'm going to try that next I guess. The car would do it every once in awile, but seems to have gottin alot more often now. Not sure whats goin on.

    Shaking Tyres

Thanks for the advice I will try tie rods first and see if that works.

I will look at increasing pressure, hopefully this will eliminate the shake.

Thanks again to all who replied
