Is there any way of telling the difference between Brads and Mantons rocker arm adjusters by looking at theme? I just got a shaft set up and was told they were mantons but how can i tell? They are 3/8 non oiler style!

NCall Mantons and ask them. Also tell them the name of the guy you bought them from and the can probably check their records.

Shiny or dull ball ? When I was at BAE a few months ago theirs had a polished ball end and the Manton a dull finish.

If the ball end is black they're not BAE, unless they have changed them in the last few years - which is totally possible.

We have run the Manton ones for the last 5 or 6 years and the ball end is black. We used to buy from BAE and the ball end was machined with no coating/finish on it. We switched to the Manton ones because we had issues with the BAE ones getting hot and galling up in the pushrod cup. Switched to Manton, used the same lube, same pushrods (Smith Bros.), same springs (550lbs seat press.) and the problem disappeared. Just a side note, we do not use the drilled pressure fed ones, just the plain old solid ones.
