    Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a straight answer that seems to be hard to come by from anyone other than the manufacturer.

I just finished installing the new carbon brakes on our funny car, all stuff is Strange brand. I was told by the tech guys at Strange 1200psi on the rear and 500-700psi on the front on a hard brake pull. That's all fine and dandy, I have set it up at 600psi on the front with the prop. valve, all is good. Now I hear guys say they have it turned all the way off up front (0psi), or 5% (60psi), etc etc. That being said, I paid $3000 for these brakes - so I will NOT have them turned off (or use a blank fitting as some have suggested).

I'm looking for a straight answer from some guys or girls that have experience running Strange carbon brakes on all fours. What psi should I set the front brakes up at. We have not run the car yet this year, just don't need any bad suprises when I pull on the handle at the top end.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nathan Sitko

dwwhite, I just took a look at the MW site, here's the pertinent info regarding this. My stuff is all Strange, but it basically still says the same thing, and that the pressure reducing valve is required:

If you have a Strange master cylinder, and it is a Funny car master, {a regular strange master is $100.00, and a funny car master is $500.00} and it is plumbed correctly, {The front of the master, the section furthest away from the push rod} goes to the front brakes, this section has a spring on the push rod which limits the pressure to 500-600 psi. Do not use a prop valve or a residual valve. You may also have to change the ratio of the handle or make a longer one to get the correct pressure. I worked on a funny car that had the cheap master on it, fixed that then figured out the new owner had less arm strength than the previous owner, made a new handle with more ratio and the brakes were great. Sorry for the long post, Tom.
