Who makes a quality 15w40 or 20w50 for a methanol engine, I am leaning towards Brad Penn, anyone else to consider?

I switched from Royal Purple 20-50 to 70wt Brad Penn, I'll just say that I wont be switching back, Brad Penn is a great oil.

You may not have the clearance to run a heavy 70wt and I dont know what turbos like for oil, maybe a 50wt?

I have used Royal Purple 60 nitro,. N/A alky BBC awesome stuff bearings still like new
after 46 runs and even with 2 runs with 25% nitro in the tank,..and then again REDLINE
is also awesome Oils TA/FC proven,.....BUT I must ask or say,..your oil thickness will
greatly depend on what kind of bearing clearence you have in your mains and rods.

Both Redline and Royale Purple oil can be reused over and over again.

we use redline in a twin turbo hemi with dry sump ( a real one)
we had an issue with a valve spring tail getting into the pump (we pull the oil straight out of the heads as well) the pump stopped the belt came off at 3 secs the oil light diddnt work we made a scrappy 8.0at 195 hit under power for the last 400 feet,

we had a fully itact engine with some eveidence that two rod bearings had started to turn no other damage at all crank was fine we replaced just two bearings...that motor ran over 7000 rpm for 5 secs with ZERO oil presure...........redline......expensive for sure but........

Two 540 blown BBC's--switched from Royal Purple a long time ago to 50wt. Brad Penn and would never consider going to anything else (unless BP was to drop out of game). Am going to twin turbo setup this season and info I have researched says to stay with a straight grade oil, so it will be Brad Penn 50 wt there also. Not saying it is good for you, but it has been for me. JW

We use Royal Purple Nitro 50 in our twin turbocharged, methanol fueled engine. We have had tremendous success with it; the bearings looked like brand new after 90 runs at more than 40 psi on every run. This oil can be reused by evaporating off the alcohol (the procedure has been described here before).

Oil pressure and bearing clearances mean everything!!
