    Most of the late model hemi guys run around 60 degrees of timing, even up to 65. I don't think anyone runs under 50.

    This one is an early style hemi. (392) with solid Mastodon heads. I understand the late model hemi can handle much more advance than the early hemi.
    still seeking advice on max advance for early style hemi

    55 degrees and slow the blower to 10% over. You are in deep water, good luck

    I'll ask the four most important questions you didn't post. What od on the blower and what fuel pump/ output in GPM are you running, also how much does your car weigh , what rear end gear ---- etc etc

    Make that 5 things , how far is the piston down in the hole ? CR ?

    We raced on the weekend. 6.93 at 223
    91% nitro. 15% blower overdrive. 43 degrees mag. Enderle 1200 pump (18gpm) clutch was set soft. pulled 44mph in the top half.
    followed up with 6.66 at 219 and 6.94 at 216. Burnt #2 plug on the last pass.
    car weighs 1700lbs. 3.89 rear gears.

    would increasing mag from 43 to 50 be too big a step?

    Thanks for the advice

    LOL Eagle1 won the March Meet so I'd listen to him.

    Kind of a bit low on compression I think. I'm at 7.5 and think others are a bit higher
    using an early hemi setup.
