Nice showing on the TAD side even though only one BAD is in attendance. TAFC is another story altogether.

Great run by McPhillips to snatch the #1 spot after Q1!

10 out of 11 alky dragsters running on nitro and only 2 funny cars. To me this is a statement that it is less expensive to run nitro without a blower than it is alky with a blower. Can you say A fuel funnycar

There are no Funnycars in the Div 2. You might as well have a race on the Moon in the middle of Feb. But if any of the know it alls who don't have have 10 cents invested would like to put up the cost of getting some of the the D1 funnycars there ( figure 3 to 5 thousand each ) I'm sure we could get a full field next year.

If it had been scheduled the week before the National event it probably would've brought in more cars

    Math

It's an easy equation. REWARDS+FUN=COSTS rewards (no increases in my memory) + fun (it's still fun)= costs (gone completely out of sight)
The end result is fewer racers. Dave Germain

It definitely was a statement of combo preference and strategy for that matter. With that race being part of the Eastern Region now, quite a few of their races are during the hot muggy months where it is a bit more difficult to run an A/F car. So making it down to Gainesville in February was a priority to many of these teams. A B/AD chasing points will typically find a hot track with some altitude to use as an extra race.

I do know of one BAD team that planned on going but just couldn't get their car done in time.

So the good air was an incentive for A/F teams to attend. I think the rest of the Eastern TAFC crowd decided to wait and hit another race somewhere else. It is tough to have all your stuff ready for that race.

I heard there were 4 fc's there, William Fulford never made it to the line and that John Headley had let his license run out, and could not get a physical in time.

Back to back divisionals to nationals may help car count because of convienence, but really kills any chance of our cars attracting a crowd.
