I decided to use a mag kill solinoid instead of routing all the amps through a switch. Now my actual kill switch doesn't have to be the huge high amp deal.

    Just a thought.

I've had problems with mag kill switches in the past and we use a low amp Vertex, the switches contacts need to open a long ways or the mag will jump to ground. A local engine machine shop told me to use a "Longacre" switch, I'm pretty sure that is the name. Its worked great for me, I always have fire when I want now.

Its not only about amps, you also have to stop it from jumping across the contacts.

I like Comax's idea with the solenoid.

We had issues with every switch we tried until finally biting the bullet and going with the big Mallory switch.

The problem isn't so much the amps involved but how humidity effects the switch.
Twice we had the motor shut off on the burnout during high humidity days.
No problems since going with the big Mallory
