Kuhl 14-71 question?

Why does my kuhl 14-71 have 10 bolts to bolt to the intake instead of the normal 8 like i see on most other 14-71 blowers. Is there something im missing here?

 

I was told they are there so the case didn't distort while they were making them.So when they hone the bore's the case didn't distort when it got warm. That was the thought behind the extra holes. They are not needed to mount it
