Since D-4 has lost both Texas Div. races, will they adjust the Grade points required for running the Natl. events??? Same with D-1 losing E-Town.....

Why are Div 4 racers forced to go to Iowa and Illinois Regional events?

If one of the reasons the Regionals were instituted was to reduce travel; they failed in that aspect. These two tracks are 100 miles apart and 1,200+ miles from central Texas. Why no Regionals in Texas? They really need to reconsider these two regionals in the Northern area that belong to those Chicago area racers. This plan is surely not in stone; let's get concerns and input to NHRA and reconfigure these two races.

    Hey Tony,
For this season, I'd say it's pretty safe to assume it's set in stone. The major reason there are no Regionals where there have been points meets in the past is the track owners didn't want Alcohol at their divisional race. Not just in Texas, but the majority of Division 2 as well. We even lost a couple in Div. 5 since the Oklahoma tracks actually wanted us and I'm guessing they didn't want to totally abandon Division 4. Not saying what happened is right, but the explanation I was given was that they did poll track owners and division directors and tried to accommodate those that wanted us and those that didn't.

As for the grade point system.. When was the last time we actually filled the quota in either class at a national event?

Everybody knows the Alcohol classes re the Main draw at Div. Races! So are we to assume these Track owners are content to see Empty Grandstands?

    Yep.

Backgate revenue and no promotion; that's the business model. Soon to be the out of business model.

    Cheers,
