Switched from a KB Olds to a BAE 5 with a BAE billet block.in a PM car, The bellhousing area is way too low to attempt mounting a starter to the midplate below it. Are guys machining off some of the block or what. I,ve seen the Mcamis starter but have no room up high. If anyone has knowledge or pics it would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

    starter

We run a starter on our Brad block w/o any mods to block.
It was a kit from Coan, that had the rear motor plate come with the machined hole for a Ford-type mounting (3 bolts in midplate, not to block).
The starter we use is a Tilton HD unit, but Mezaire has really good ones too.
We had to remove some material from the starter mounting housing to scoot it around the oil pan & rear block casting, but it works great!
It mounts in the same area as a std chevy car/truck.
I might be able to send a pic if you like.
