Anyone ever used the Orange/Yellow shift light output wire for ground on a hi-speed solenoid? ie, to where the solenoid is on after a certain rpm? I'm already using the other rmp/time wire...need another one.

    shift light

i believe the wire is only active when the rpm of motor is at set rpm of shift light. therefore only power on the wire for an instant, then back off again.

The 8973 manual says that wire will provide 5 amps continuous ground when enabled. If you have your shift light set at say 6000, your light will stay on until you shift below that point...correct? Hence the ground would be enabled above this point.

It has to go through a relay. You cannot pull big current flow through the 8973 or the Power Grid.

    Only through a relay.
