Would like to use the smaller dia. flex plate (153 T ) due to starter clearance.
Application is a 453 BBc blown alc in a top dragster with reduction (tilton style) starter.
Can be set up with 16V or 24V as required as we are in process of putting together.

    Thoughts on the 153T versus the 168T. Motor 11.5 to 1 with 10-71 @ max 36% over.
Will start with less to license new driver.

Thanks for any input/ experience Randy

The larger diameter flex plate (168) is much easier on the starter, due to the tooth pattern being further away from the center line of the crank. I run a 468 BBC with 12 1/2 to 1 comp ratio blown with an MSD starter at 12 volts. Never had a problem starting, hope this helps,DAVE

Dave I agree on the size and I would prefer the larger flex plate. I am considering trying this smaller one as I have 3 of these type starters too use up and they will fit. If problems arise I will change the configuration to allow the larger flex plate.

    Thanks for sharing Randy

    153 tooth flexplate

it will turn over faster and start easier if you are running a mag ( as long as the starter can turn it)

I've run the Tilton on a 541" KB 11-1 cr, with 2 12Volts wired parallel? (+ to +, -- to --)to get a stronger 12V with a 130T Mopar flywheel with no problems whatsoever. Lower compression of a blower motor works in your favor at cranking speeds.
