    Hello,
I purchased these heads as being build by Batten but several of my fellow racers were not so certain. I was hoping someone here could shead a little light on the heads. Also I was told they use a shaft rocker for a standard iron bbc head such as a 990. Is this the case?
    Thanks for any info,

I don't really know but Bacman (Mandolini) made conventional style BBC billet heads once upon a time.

Besides the strength of the billet, what advantages do they have over say a head like the Dart 360?

Not run Dart so can't compare, these run 2.375 inlet & 1.875 exhaust
Can take stock valve train parts, use 5 exhaust bolts and have a canted exhaust ports.

They have run as quick as 5.5's too

I do have an original advert from National dragster I will try to dig out.

Are they a copy of the 861 Bowtie head? I had a set of the 861's done by him years ago and they look similar except these of course are billets.

Awesome to hear some news about these heads, I tried to do some research on them last year, the ones we've got have Morgan letter stamped on them, we got them a year ago on an engine (KB olds) we purchased, they must of been beat up over the years, oil finds its way into the exhaust in the shut down area, I think it's sucking in around pushrods tubes into the inlet port when the throttle is shut.

    6.86 @ 209MPH PB
    2875lbs Promod on a 10.5 tire
    526 KB Olds block
    1471 SSI @ 34 over (35psi)
    Pro mag 44
    Crowerglide Clutch
    Lenco

How much Timing have you guys run with these heads

    Cheers
