What's a typical offset distance from center of the rear axle to the rear motor plate, in a TAFC, and typical distance from ground to the crank center line? Thanks.

65 or 66 out seems to be todays norm I believe
It use to be 61-63 and before that 58-61.

    Nothing at all,
Alot of Alky chassis are hand me down Nitro chassis, even in alky Dragster, atleast up untill about 3 or 4 years ago when all the X bracing kicked in for the nitro cars after Medlins unfortunate death, and John Forces crash in Dallas..The hand me down chassis from Nitro to alky to Altered to super comp, etc classes has been going on since 1968.

well thanks for that. we just picked up a 2000 camaro nitro body and were going to look for an alcohol chassis but knowing that the option is open for an old nitro chassis. we are going to run in a lower class to start as its too expensive for us right now to run with the big boys in top alcohol. thanks for your advice mike

Just keep in mind you will 90% of the time need to change the tin work in the body to fit a chassis if it wasnt tinned by the same manufacturer for a specific manufactured chassis, especially at the firewall and go around, then there is readjusting the front and rear tree too..

Good luck in your new adventure
