We're saddened to hear the loss of longtime Top Alcohol tuner Norm Christensen.

I am told there will be a celebration of his life at the Holiday Inn in Wilsonville, Oregon, Oct. 22 from 2-5 pm.

    RIP and Godspeed.

We were very blessed and fortunate to have had Norm as our crew chief for so many years and we very much appreciated all he did for our race team. God Speed Norm...

    We will miss you

Norm was one of the good guys he helped everybody. If he saw someone or something wrong at the head of the staging lanes he would jump to help everyone even the team in the other lane, that is how Norm was. Few and far between rest in peace our friend

    Norm

Norm was a good friend of mine. He was truly one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He took me under his wing and taught me volumes about how to run a alcohol car. His help and advice made a tremendous difference to me. I will really miss him. Dave Germain

    Norm was always there.
30 years he offered me his views and mentored me from time to time at the track. Sucks that the good are gone far too soon. I will miss his Kinship, input and Knowledge.
R.I.P Norm, you truely made a difference in the world

I am so sorry to hear this. Norm was such a gentle man, it was always a pleasure to talk to him. I have raced against/with Norm since the early eighties, and will miss him.

Well, this is very hard for me to write. My brother and I started going to the races in the late '60s. The first trophy won was in 1968 with his new Road Runner in pure stock at Arlington Washington....very much showroom for those that were not there in those days. According to my calculator, which has to be wrong, that was well past 40 years ago. In that time I have met so many great individuals at the races that it has compelled me to return year after year. My life would simply not be the same if I were not able to renew those friendships each spring as I found them at events during the season. One of those whom I looked forward to seeing the most was Norm. Nobody had his spirit, joy, interest and dedication to this sport that he showed me in our talks. Over the last 2 years particularly, Norm came by after each round to relate what had happened with his car and his setup and then related what he had seen of our run. We would then brainstorm options for both cars, laugh at our efforts and part, certain that we had found the needed adjustments. He told me of his medical issues and of his fight to get the tuneup adjusted for a no shake ride and he and I spent considerable time brainstorming that setup as well. There was no quit in Norm and I know he gave it everything he had. For me, the world is a much smaller place today than it was. Norm was one of the finest people I knew and I will miss him very much.

Norm was a nice man and good friend to all the Gasparrelli's...I know he and my pops are up there coming up with the "sure thing, no shake" tune up. RIP Norm...

    sad news

I just logged on here for the first time in over a month and got this news. Sorry to hear of Norm's passing, he was, as has been said here previously, a great and gentle man who was a pleasure to talk with and know. He was one of the first "real crew chiefs" out there to show me any respect and share some of his knowledge with me. I have valued his friendship and take solace knowing he is no longer suffering and now up there with God where we all long to be someday.

    RIP

I only got to know Norm the last three or so years but I was always an admirer of him all the way back when he raced with Steve McGee. To me he was bigger than life in the alcohol pits and when he started asking me how our car ran even though we are not a true Top Alcohol team I was flattered. He was one of the best and a very nice guy. He will be missed. Lets pray that there is a cure out there that's taking so many of our fellow racers and countrymen.
