converter bolts

    have a PTC converter i had pad spacers welded on at PTC..they sent me 6 bolts and 3 nuts..my converter has 3 pads that is thearded and 3 that is not..on the 3 pads that i use bolts and nuts on..do i need lock washers between pad and nut?or just use red loc-tight?or should i get self locking nuts?also should i be using flat washers between bolt head and flex plate? also on the 3 pads that is theaded what should i do there?

    I personally hate lock washers, they break
    Use a good steel crimped fine thread lock nut and AN fastener with red lock tight and torque to proper specs you will not have problems

    should i use flat washer between bolt head and flex plate?also flat washer on nut side?what would be toruq on these?7/16 nf grade 8

    I would us a hardened washer on the nut size
    specs on bolt-- use the manufactor's specs

    Just what John said. You can get thin or thick hardened washers.. Make sure one the thick ones you put the chamfer to the bolt head. You can get the thin distorted nuts. Make sure you throw away the nuts when you take them off.and always use new ones. You can get what you need from Specialty Fasteners. They are on the west coast. Beats shopping around. Don
