I know this has been discussed and i have read everything i can find on the subject so far but i still cant get it working right. I have a 565 with a procharger running 30lbs of boost and i have been launching at 5000rpm but now brake barely holds 3000rpm then feels like it locks the converter and drives thru the brake. I have already put a new band, checked drum, airpressure, no leaks, and plenty of power to solinoid.

    Any ideas???

Converter could be broken , you know if the converter will not stall 5000 that engine can over power any brake, if the band is new drum is good and adj are right then it has to be the converter

    brt

we lost several rounds because of the car rolling. It MUST have a linelock.
It looked like the brake was creeping but everything looked new when apart. Ours is on the front but I don't think it matters.

If you have a tight converter and a lot of steam nothing will hold it. Promods usually dump some timing on the brake so they don't make as much power but still have a lot of boost.

Other than Bruno, David Wolfe and Grant Macrary are the best on the BRT. We always use a stock band and redline synthetic racing ATF.

Anything but Kevlar. I have had nothing but trouble with Kevlar friction material in ANY type of high performance trans, and the data sheets I have seen on Kevlar suggest that the coefficient of friction is much lower than other tested friction materials. In other words, it has less grip.

It's a reverse band, supposedly from a T-400 but one that I got had FoMoCo cast in it.
