I'm selling my Coan XST Superglide 2 speed(1.80 first) and going to buy a converter drive and go to a 3 speed. I already have the 1.25" Coan bolt together converter I used with the XST.

    Lencodrive,Bruno/Lenco or B&J Quickdrive ? Worth doing a 3 speed?

3 spd for quarter mile. The lencodrive is the lightest, most compact and most expensive. I run a BRT with good results and they are pretty cheap. Lenco CS1's are damn near free.

I am a huge fan for the B&J. But the others are good, and guys have run well with them.
I like not having the converter drive as part of the transmission for ease and availability of safety equipment. The air trans brake so its performance is not fluid temperature dependent. And having way more gear ratios for first. Plus it will bolt up a lenco or B&J. So you have more options as well.
    But, that is just me.

The Lencodrive is the best piece out there hands down. We've run it for over 10 years and had zero problems. If you're running a high hp deal, make sure you get the heli sprags in it.
