We made the first few hits with our blown SBC and everything went well but it seems to blow alot of black smoke and I'm not sure why.

The only things I come up with are the top-lube burning and maybe a little gas and carbon left over from priming (we were priming with gas).

We did have some oil smoke out of #7 for a bit but that cleared up after the first good pull.

    Larry,
This came up on another thread a little while back, sounds like you may have too much top lube, like you said. Someone had put a bottle of lube in the barrel and then put some of the scented stuff in, not realizing it was lube also, so they doubled the mix. You might try making a pass on straight alky if you have some to see if it clears up.

Dont prime with gas use alchol it will start just as easy but without the carbon or harming your blower.

23T, im with you, I think we mixed the top-lube a little heavy. We are going to take it out again in a week or so to get the tune closer, I'll cut way back on the lube and see if that helps, will also try priming with alky.

Dont forget blower lube. I had a spray can of blower lube that would make me smoke, but i also think it was going on a little heavy. Just a thought.
