Have you tried calling there and talking to Chase Knight? He has been there what seems like forever, has done lots of work with the Hemi stuff and even drove a turbo/roots blown dragster back in the day.

Just call Crane and ask for Chase, if he doesnt answer, leave a message and he will get back to you.

Any luck? We just have been having issues with a new set as well. We are sticking them at idle speed. I have pulled them and honed lifter bores about a dozen times already. I am told these lifters are know for this as they are egg shaped and not round. It is a real bummer as we havent even made it off the pro jacks or out of the shop and are having issues.

Yes we had some success contacting chase and he was very helpful. Just curious but how did you catch your problem at idle . I seized just exhaust ones but I'm new to this hemi program so learning everyday . Call crane direct and ask for him. That's what I did .

Care to share what you have learned? Is there a way to tell if they are Cranes or not? I have a set that are unmarked and the owner seems to think that he put Crane's in this particular engine. In my case, when I pulled it apart #5 #5 exhaust lifter was stuck and the tie bar was also broken. The stuck lifter wiped the cam lobe, but I caught it early enough it didn't do damage to anything else.

Older crane lifters tie bars are just plain polished steel colored with there logo scribed into the tie bar. The new ones which are somewhere around a year or so old now have a black tie bar with there logo scribed into it as well. My problem was the block had drain back holes in between the lifters that were blocked of causing my cam and lifters to appear dry causing me to destroy a new set of lifters. Pulled em out and everything is awesome now. Always a chevy and this new hemi program is nothing like one. Thanks to all who respond to these ads. Makes racing a better venture with good answers to our questions
