I have an altered with a blown small block. I switched over to beadlock wheels this and we have run into bad tire shake. It is the 2055 Hoosier tire on a weld beadlock. What tire pressure is good. We use to run between 5 to 5 1/2. The car weighs 1960 with me in it and it is a four link car with a powerglide.

    shake

You have to remember, beedlocks are heavy. and the outer rings act like big flywheels, the further away from the center line the more weight. you need to read the computer and see what the driveshaft speed is.compared to the time .05 Read a few posts down .Mike Canter answered someones question. I am sure it is more than tire pressure. But I have been wrong before Hope someone will follow up. Don

With that car weight you are still in a good area fot tire pressure, Probably best traction around 5 3/4 and if you need wheelspeed then drop it down a 1/4 lb at a time but do not go below 5 lbs.

I do not have a data logger so I have no information on wheel speed and driveshaft speed. We have the four link set up so it won' t hit hard. We started at the 5 pounds in the tires and have gone all the way down to 4 and up to 6 pounds. We use to launch at 3200 rpms before the beadlocks, we moved that up all the way up to 7500 to try to leave harder but it still just shakes bad. Could it be the Beadlock wheels are not good for my combination.

Where on the track is it shaking top of the gear? down low?
Don my beadlocks with tires on them weigh considerably less then my liner tires.

Then it is hitting the tire too hard and deforming it. That gould mean that the extension (rebound) of your shock is too loose or the 4-link needs adjusting. What rear shocks do you have and where are they set on compression and extension?

The shocks are koni and they set stiff on both settings. We took most of the hit out of the four link. If some video would help I will have 3 slow motion shots from 3 passes later this week.

Sorry to tell you but Stock Koni valving cannot handle a hard blower motor launch. Those shocks are generic racing shocks that will work on a Top Sportsman or a Nitrous car but will be less than great on a blower car. Bickle has modified some and call them Gorilla shocks that work better. The way the valving is designed cannot handle that hit you are giving them and they cannot control the speed the shock tube is moving. My recomemdation is to sell them and buy some Santhuff shocks. Let me tell you on how many of us have tried to make the Koni work without success.

Thank you for the information. I am going to go back to the non beadlock wheels and test this wed. We will also look into the shocks. I let you know how that works out.

i think you have too much tire on that car. that is alot of tire for that little motor. i remember Rick Santos ran A 33.5 tire with a screw blower on his T/AD.....i know it is a dragster but he made big power. something to think about

What tire is that a Hoosier , Goodyear, or Mickey Thompson. We went testing tonight and we are leaning torwards better shocks, or different tires or both. I am going to borrow a set of Santuff shocks this weekend.

On those Santhuff shocks just do not start off with random settings. If you go up on the Santhuff website there are guidelines to where the adjustments should be set based on horsepower ratings. If you set those shocks at the high horsepower setting then you will probably just blow the tires off. At least that would not be tire shake.
