lenco jumps out of reverse

we have adjusted the detent to as firm as we can. when it starts to backup it comes out of reverse. this is on a blown f/c. (7.50) car. idle rpm is at 2000. it holds in forward position. driver holds on but its a strong push out of gear. all this is when in first gear. may send it back to Lenco? any ideas?

 

the pins may be worn in the fork?

 

I never rely on the little indent spring on the side of the reverser. get a lever that locks.

 

Buy a B&J? I know not what you want to hear. But after fighting with the reverser on my buddies funny car for a year, my B&J works beautifully EVERY time. No filing the gear to get it into reverse or whatever else always needs tp be be done. Granted his is an older CS1, but it has the new updated HD reverser in it and it still gives us fits. PLUS the owner will call you back from the race track if he needs to. Mike is a stand up guy and I cannot say enough good things about him. He has helped me tremendously!

I took the reverser apart tonite. the teeth are alittle burred. not uncommon. I can clean that up. I found the input shaft bushing was siezed onto the output shaft of the reverser. seems the shaft would grab and try make it go forward. will finish the repair tommorow and try again.
