    Aloha,
Starting with a new setup, Naturally aspirated on Methanol, 1900 Lb RED, Quick-drive w/ 2 B&J units, 4:30 rear gears. Would appreciate advice on launch of burnout procedure.

We run the same setup only it's blown. We do the burn out in high gear (both buttons in), roll thru the water and hit it, we also use a throttle stop so you don't have the watch the tach. You may have to do a little experimenting with the stop to get the rpm you want. Good Luck!

    transbrake

being a n/a combo with that gear ratio, it might be easier to either stop, flash the transbrake in high gear, then dump it to shock the tires into a burnout. i know some comp cars shift through their burnout, so it may be easier to start in 2nd gear and shift it into high as soon as the tires get going.

    burn-out

When I ran a injected dragster here is what I would go. and it worked out well for me.
I would roll into the water and stop when I felt the dip. in high I would whack the throttle to spin the tires a little and roll out to the edge of the water. Hold the brake and bring it up to somewhere around 5000 rpm's. and let go of the brake. and hold the throttle at that RPM. till the car started to shake and then I would lift. You will learn how to control the throttle for the burnout. quickly. I had a powerglide with 4.30 gears. But drive is the same. If you run a bigger motor with more torque, I am sure you can lower the RPM's. This is just a idea so you will have to adjust your style accordingly, Burn out are fun, but remember they can be hard on parts. Let us know how it works out for you. Don
