Man I must be a complete idiot, but I just can't get my lap belts tight enough to make me feel comfortable. I have a set of Strouds, not that it matters, but to tighten them I have to pull down and away from the camlock. The problem is there isn't any space there. I end up pulling into the space where my hip meets the seat. Even if I had space, there is no leverage, it's just a weak angle. I thought about setting them where I want them and then just sucking air until I could force them into the cam lock, but I'm not sure I have the leverage to make that happen either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Have one of your crew guys tighten the belts.

Get a set of 'pull up' belts. You pull the loose ends toward the center to tighten them up. I used to have the same problem - the last set I bought I got the pull up option - makes life much easier.

That would solve my problem. I didn't know they existed. Found several manufacturers that have them, thanks for the help.

Stroud will hook you up with the pull up belts, had them make me a set of shoulder belts longer than usual so that they fit better with a HANS device. Keeps the buckles from being under my chin.

I called Stroud but it was after 5 their time. I'm going to call them again tomorrow. I've got their chutes, belts, and blower restraint. Now that I think of it my pilot chutes are starting to look like I drag them TO the track, nut just AT the track. I guess I'll have to get some of them soon too.
