Hi, I've got a 427bbc smallbore 6-71 planning on 10lbs. I'm running a enderle bird with a HILBORN barrel valve. I was told to set the leakdown at 65%. I had more fuel shootin at me than i new what to do with. Finally went to 35% and starting to sound pretty good . had to get all the alky out of the cylinders and dried plugs best we could today, so i think its getting close, couldn't get a new set today. anyway I was wondering if anybody could give me a hint on the leakdown.I have a single guage tester that i plug into air@80 zero guage and plug into barrelvalve and set to the no. is that correct.I just run hat nozzles no hispeed so nothing to block off. thanks alot

Leak down is just a good starting point. After that adjust the bv to what the engine likes (no hesitation when the throttle is opened up quickly)

Every motor likes something different. I had a injected BB chevy that liked 35 percent, while others with close to my combo liked it different. Do what was stated in the prier post. Even when you get it back from being flowed, it needs to be adjusted to what you need. Don

Make sure that you have the idle return line blocked off coming out of the BV. Common mistake is to leave that line and poppet connected. this will really mess up the leakdown readings. I always disconnect one of the outlet lines also but that is optional because you are setting a percent leakdown for your reference. If you didn't block off that idle return line then try it again and see what happens. Y
