    Here are links to a couple of onboard camera videos from last weekends race in Bakersfield...

    http://youtu.be/vjab5oIPh-g
    Round 2 of elims against Kenny Buzdas. GoPro Hero HD camera is mounted on the right front A-arm looking back and across into the other lane.

    Round 1 of elims, single/bye run. GoPro Hero HD camera is mounted on the back of the roll cage looking up at the DMPE MK 11 injector. Note that the blower belt starts to come apart at the starting line but enough belt stays on to run low ET and top speed of the event, 5.303 at 272 mph.

    enjoy!

    That is soooo cool, I especially like clearly hearing the gear changes in the hat one, thanks for the alternative positioning!

    Great camera shots Chris. I noticed something going by the injector right after you leave the line. Luckily didn't go in. I "clipped" a photo from the video, but don't have the authority to post it on here.:(
    If someone does I'll email to them.

    Stupid question time Mr. Demke;

    A lot of that belt seemed to end up heading into that bad a$$ DMPE injector. How much of that 'shrapnel' ended up in the bottom of the oil pan, or did it cause any internal damage to the engine?

    Thanks

    To my knowledge no debris from the belt was found in the motor. There really is no way for the bits to make it into the oil pan unless there was a hole in a piston. If anything made it into the injector it was squished flat by the supercharger, sucked past an intake valve and spit out the exhaust header.
    I was impressed with the great job done by the belt guard, the two or three grade 8 bolts and hardware sticking out of the front of the blower on the left side of the picture. When what remained of the belt let go at the finish line you can see the guard bolts move as a result of the impact. The belt guard saved a very expensive carbon fiber hat from a good wack!

    As usual, Chris, excellent work! Pretty scary seeing the belt do that!! I'd love to see a video of what the valvetrain looks like during a run.............Or maybe I wouldn't!!

    How's about a cockpit shot? I'd love to see an in-car shot from the old days with lever shifters, and stuff, too. Off the brake, shift, shift, steer, swat the chute levers, shut-off, brake. Even with shift buttons, there's still a LOT going on in there!!!

    Nice! Are the scoreboards just past the eighth mile? They seemed to flash past before the finish line. And why are the spindles makin all that racket just before the turn off?
