Anyone out there running Beadlocks on an Altered or Funny Car using a clutch. If so, what kind of et's do you run and what tire do you use? Any other info such as weight, 60 ft times, etc would be helpful. I'm trying to decide on which wheels to buy. Thanks for the input!

I don't think I have seen anybody running Beadlocks in TAFC ever actually. Good luck. Dave Germain

Do you NEED beadlocks??? is it a rule in your class or type of racing,
I just changed from a beadlock to a liner wheel. They are also available as a 15.3 wheel. not only are the liner wheels cheaper even including the cost of the liner, they have totaly transformed my car when run with the hoosier 2055,
not an altered or FC but as stated almost all tafc and blown tad use the liner wheel,

We run an altered. 511 cu in BBC, clutch, 3 speed, we use beadlocks with no issues

Did run 36" tyre had bests to date of

    6.42 @ 191mph
    60' - 0.96
    330' - 2.63
    1/8th ET - 4.04
    1/8th mph - 172mph

No issues with this set up at all, But we have just switched to 34.5" tyres SO it could all change...

    Aiming for a low low 6, and a 3.** 1/8th ET and 185mph+ mph at 1/8th

    We use weld wheels

We run beadlocks on our outlaw funny cars and my buddy runs beadlocks on his altered. Our combo is 526 ci, pushing 3000 to the ground, run 3.80's in the eighth mile at 188 miles per hour. Have run m/t 34.5's but really like the 36s since we run a 4.56 gear and 10" dump clutch. My other car is a 10.7 inch crower dump clutch which has a PSI roots setup on a 519 ci engine. Our weights are 2350 so about 2500 with me in it. Have not come up with any tires to stick on it yet since It is a brand new car. Give Mike Gibbs a call at 615 308 3191 and he will steer you in the right direction.

Also we usually run .887 sixty foot times as long as the track will hold it. We don't have the bs rules that NHRA has so we can do whatever the hell we want to.
