A friend of mine has a funny car with 5.750" center to center spindle arm. It has a 7.50" center to center McKinney pitman arm with a SPE steering box.

The car is REALLY heavy to turn. What will shortening/lengthening the arm at the spindle end do to the steering operation? Anyone had this issue?

What is the normal length of the spindle arm when used with a fuel funny car 7.50" pitman arm?

    Thanks

Making the c/c longer on the spindle arm will make the steering easier but
it also slows down the stearing. Meaning that you will turn the stearing wheel
farther [more revolutions] to turn the same distance than you turn it now.
Someone on here should let you know common dimensions on the c/c of each
arm. If the stearing is too fast it's possible to over correct in a bad situation.

Is this a new a car or one that just had front end done on it?

Does it turn hard while moving forward or backward ? or just sitting still?
Check spindle degrees of lay back.
    Also last time lube bushings?
Also check the Steering Rod support tab if it has one.
Also check lube in Steering box.

Does it have a dampener? Check the dampner resistance if it does. There adjustable
