TFX gear drive

I have a hemi TFX /RCD gear drive that I am selling off my TFX92, My question is, will it fit all TFX hemi blocks?

It should fit, however the idler post is different.

I have the different idler posts in stock.

they sure are different looking, fitting and being right is two different things

 

I have run the 92, 96, 2000 and 2002 blocks and I am sure the covers were the same for all of them. The idler post is different as Robert has mentioned. I know I am getting old but I can not recall having any problems swapping covers from any vintage of TFX blocks.

I am just saying the 92 cover only has the 1/4" bolts that hold it on
the 96 and on have the 4 outside larger bolts also
you might be able to put a 92 on the later stuff (of course the idler is different) using just the small bolts but i am not sure if a later (96 and on) cover will fit a 92 block
and hell maybe it will

Thinking about it the alignment pins may also be in a different location. I beleive I had to silicon up the addtional alignmnet pins holes on mine. I had covers for 3 motors and they were all Billet TFX covers that I used and I swapped them back and forth but I beleive I had 2 sets of alignment pins on some.

I never ran the crank support so I just removed the 4 bolts from the newer vintage blocks and used the same covers.

I have now switch to Brad engines Last Year so now the TFX stuff is becoming a memory.
Never any problems with TFX engines but I went to the 1/2" short deck combo.
