bae oill leak

    have a bae billet block . cant seem to get it to stop leaking out off the back of the oil pan. just got a new dan olson pan an one of those new 50$ gaskets an still leaks. thinking maybe the rear main seal. has 15 quarts in it wet sump an only seams to drip when its not running . takes about 15 mins once you put oil in. any ideas thanks guys

    supose i should of just aked will a brad leak oil out of the rear main when it is not running if its bad? thanks again

    Sounds like you need to pull #5 and reseal side gaskets on the main cap,..make sure your rear seal is facing the right way, and use a little silocone on the sides and matting surfaces of the main cap and rear seal ends and block area..also when you pull the pan look at the pan gasket at the back rail and see if the block has left an imprint of the block, it will tell you where an obstruction is protruding if its preventing the pan rail to mate with the block.

    If the block has been repaired in the mains make sure the rear cap is flush with the pan rails. Sometimes they don't machine the cap enough andit sticks up .005 -.010 and leaks.

    Leaky Hemis

    Had the same problem with my KB. Used alot of "Right Stuff" silicone and it quit leaking. The diaper catches the little drips so its all good.

    I thought Brads were supposed to leak. Who knew? ;)
