just wanted to see if you guys have any pics of your driveshaft tunnel. making updates to my chassis and looking for design ideas. car used to be slower, and used to run with driveshaft with u joints from a glide. so it now just has provisions for two loops. still running a glide, but switched over to a solid shaft with couplers. nothing has really been cookie cutter on this car. so id rather not order something from a chassis shop that im gonna have to cut all up and reweld anyway. would rather just build my own. any help with design pics or drawings would be appreciated.

    just a tube

Usually just an aluminum tube that is fastened to the end of the transmission extending back far enough to cover the front coupler. back is similarly mounted to rearend. Most run a strange rearend and the cover is part of the pinion support but you can fabricate a short aluminum tube and fasten it to the pinion support bolts. it only covers the couplers on each end, not the entire shaft.

    hope that helps.

helps alot. i had in my head that i needed to have a tube covering the entire shaft. most likely make it out of chromoly or stainless though. gotta be honest my aluminum welds arent the greatest looking things in the world, plus i have alot of stainless drops laying around the shop. alum would be lighter, but free is a good thing! thanks for the input.
