The DMPE Flexplate doesn't use an adapter to the crankshaft. It moves the converter roughly .220" closer to the motor; getting that mass closer to the motor is a plus. This will change the pilot engagement to the crankshaft as well as the neck to the pump. You'll need to mock everything up and adjust accordingly. If you have to get the converter closer to the trans, have the neck work done. Installing spacers under the feet defeats the purpose of the flexplate. When compared to a typical Reactor or CSR; the DMPE unit is around 3lbs. lighter because you're not using the adapter. The flexplate has steel inserts for the torque converter and is a very nice piece. This isn't a plug for Darren, I paid full retail for mine, just appreciative of a good product.

Jason, I see there is now a picture on Darren's site. Do you know if it is also available with a ring gear? Thanks.

Just saw it. WOW it is awsum. But I need a ring gear also. I thought the ADRL cars all were self starting. I can't imagine hanging the RCD starter . That would be way to mush weight. Do we need to call you or DMPE directly? Looking for a quick answer Would order one in a heart beat. Thanks Don

Just to let anyone know, I contacted DMPE and the said they have no plans on building one with a ring gear. What a shame. I would say they probably would sell more with the gear than without. Don

I'm sure I've seen guys leaning accross the hood with starter in hand on some ADRL cars. I guess I will go to Maple Grove and find out.

That's the way it's done. Remove the starter ring gear and starter = less weight. Just like a TAFC/TAD.
