going to use a 4.250 crank and 4.500 bore
I have a donovan BBC 11.2 deck block.
I have a cubic inch limit of 575. I am wanting to stay at about 540 to 557
My question is will that deck height make more or less torque and power with the longer rod and deck height or should I stay with the more popular 10.2 deck height

    deck

Go with 10.2 or 10.7 max. The rod length doesn't mean much with a blower. Belts are easier with 10.2 and it's lighter.10.7 is a common KB olds ht. so there are some parts available but they are getting scarce. Don't plan on getting much back out of a Chevy. They run good, but look around this site and you'll see what they're worth.

IMO, tall deck heights are only an advantage when large cid can be utilized.

    deck hight

Look at what is the latest and greatest = Big Bore short stroke= higher rpms = better for limited O/D.

Rod length will not change your horsepower. Just a little nicer on the cylinder walls.
