I think this is more dependent upon how good your parts are,
more so than whos name in engraved into the side of the head

Shubox57, what is your definition of high. 8500, 9000, 9500, 10,000 or higher? What are you turning yours to now?

Talking in the 9500 range. We are turning between 8000/8300 now. We have very good parts BAE billet block, new valve train an such. Just don't want to go in oil pan after 3 or 4 passes.

    RPM's

if you are talking about not servicing the bottom end keep it parked . If you know you have a really good tune up, test and see what it likes to run what you need. There is alot to it other than keeping your foot in it Just another opinion. Don

What bore and stroke are you using? Piston weight is usually the biggest culprit of issues with Veney motors.

    Rev limit

One more thing to note: for how long will you run it at high rpm?
Drag racing engines may go up to 10000 rpm before they switch over to the next gear, but on pullers there's no next gear. You may very well run it at 10k for 5 to 10 seconds straight preferably also at max power output. So I wouldn't compare a pulling engine to a dragster on this one. Given the application you may even need to consider richening mixtures over time during longer runs at high rpm to keep temperatures 'acceptable'.

    4.5 * 4.375 most runs are about 14 sec.

Wouldn't turn it much higher than you are now. We turn ours higher on average, but we have a smaller bore, the pan is coming off, bearings are getting checked after every pass and rods are replaced every 90-120 seconds or so worth of passes. And as TWD mentioned, ours only peaks really high and the whole thing lasts shy of 6 seconds.
