Manton Rocker Shaft Assy. For Blown BAE 5 Heads

    Was just wondering what the pros and cons are for the Manton Rocker Shaft Assembly for a Blown BAE 5? I also here they make a really nice spark plug tube, any thoughts on that? Just curious what you guys think!!! Been Running the stuff Brad Sells. Just looking at somthing new!!!

    i suppose its down to does the stuff your using now cause problems,
    I use this stuff on a 10,000 rpm hemi once its sorted its prety good but i wouldnt say perfect, its definatly tougher and the pushrod cup oiling is good, but you need exhaust rockers as well to do this on all the pushrods and they cost
    if i was going to start again and had money to burn id look at the latest BAE individual rocker system,
    if what you have works ok id save my money
    put it this way its ( Manton/Reid )what you find under the valve covers on a Al Billes built hemi,
    the plug tubes i wouldnt use they look cool give a little more clearence to the rocker arms but still hit them and the MSD wires dont fit in them and often when you pull the covers the tube leaves an end in the head or the tube stays in the head...the ends come off all the time
    standard ones with a dent to clear the rockers is easy

    The issues i have been having with the brad stuff seem to be the same for everybody, and that is the rocker stands (THE RED ONES) breaking. Been over the combination we run a thousand time to make sure we are not at fault, just frustrated i guess and looking for a better set up. Intesting about the spark plug tubes coming apart.

    Tubes

    Haskel @ Diversatech makes what I believe is the best tube available. I don't know how it clears the Manton setup but it clears the T&D and new BAE setup with no issues. They are the standard tube but have a billet tip. Great product and great people to buy from and deal with.

    if your breaking stands then you have little choice you wont(someone will tell me they have now) break the manton stands, the shafts are thicker they are good stuff the biggest issue i have is the tube clearence but its ok now like i said a few well placed dents ;)

    Stand strength

    WE have had one close call, but we have never to our knowledge had a stand break..... Last year the Peen Rite dragster had a major engine failure.(Like Jerry Says, "When ha breaks one-He does it wight).
    One exhaust shaft was sheared in half, the load screw was pulled in half, the rest of the valve train was some what damaged, but the stand did not fail.
    The stand is in our show case along with this account.
    The stand was on # 7 cylinder, which is an end stand. The end stand is not supported by anything next to it which makes it most prone to damage during impact.
    "No stand should ever fail during normal operation".

    Rockers

    I have to say the newest BAE stuff is incredible. I've been helping frankie taylor out and he had them on the black car and just bought anohter set for his yellow car. They are super trick and rock solid. Dont know what they cost, but they are very nice and ZERO issues.
