PSI intake modification

    What is the purpose of opening the rear of the intake top opening when running a psi screw? Seen a few widen and lenthen the rear "box" right below the blower opening. Is a different diffuser plate beneficial other than the standard psi plate? The blower is question is a C

    appears to be a factory psi plate,not sure about the intake. not sure if the wedge motor requires any changes. Seen the mod done to both wedge and brad motors. I will speak w a few racers this weekend see if anyone else is doing it

    intake

    From what I have been told it just evens the cylinders out better on the fuel side. No hp gain but makes the motor more happy less detonation.

    30 hp

    Grimes said it's worth about 30 hp on the dyno. Maybe a bit more with a C and more air flow. I haven't back to backed it or put it on a dyno but I've made my best runs in TAD with the mods.

    Will I assume you have to run the Grimes plate also?

    yes you have to run a plate cut out to the size of the opening.
