There have been several threads comparing the high end roots blowers, Kobelcos, PSI, DMPE, Littlefields, etc. I am familiar with the K8, K9, & K11 rotors. How do the SSI blowers and Rotors compare? I don't know anything about their rotors, D, F, etc. What are the differences in the rotors?

A friend has a Kobelco K8 60 degree rotor 6-71 on his nostalgia car and has been looking at an SSI F rotor 60 degree 6-71. The Kobelco has pretty much maxed out at 23 lbs of boost at 8000 RPM at 43 over on a 460 inch motor. He was told this SSI made 35 lbs of boost at 8000 RPM at 40 over on a 450 inch motor. I have no experience with the SSI so I don't know what to tell him or how the F rotor actually compares to his K8. I appreciate any incite on the SSI's.

    Thanks

we have been using many of the ssi blowers with f rotors for years although 120 degree, there curent stuff is among the very best.Rich and TJ are soon to be, if not doing so already, dyno testing every unit out the door. And could test your old charger for comparison maybe.call and talk to them 216-676-5800

The K8 is the small diameter and the F is the larger one. Than there are the rotor profiles that each company has there own way of doing it. This is not including all the differences in the cases.

We went from HH 8-71 LF K8's to SSI F-2 and it was a substantial improvement. Now they have better yet again.

If the SSI has setback rotors and the Kobelco not, there is also a big difference in the design of the case that makes a big difference in performance.

Is the Kobelco what you are talking about a Superman?

The Kobelco is not a superman. The SSI he is looking at does have setback rotors. I figured that in itself was a plus.

So are all the SSI rotors previous to the F the smaller diameter? Are there a couple versions of the F rotor? I see SoDak referenced F-2 rotors if I read that correct.

    Thanks for the responses

The best is to call Rich or TJ, 216-676-5800, but I do beleive the F was the first big Ø. My understanding is the -# refers to the case.

we have a 6-71 std set back rotor deal we are working with it is one bad mother----er it was 1 of the 2 first 6-71s made in the setback form when tj and rich went on there own. we worked with the new 14-71 this summer as well and it was just as good as the 6-71 call tj or rich tell them DARRIN from maine fabricators told you call they will be very helpful we have a fuel pump rule and from our std 6-71 to thenew one had to back the overdrive down from 20 to 12 to make it live and be happy very pleased with there stuff and have run there stuff since 2001 with no problems.
