    Howdy...

I have an RCD gear drive for a Big Block Chev. The timing gear for the crank has a double key but my crank only has a single key for the timing gear and a double for the crank hub. Is it important to have the double key way for the timing gear?

    Cheers Pete

Are you running a blower on this motor? If so the double key way is nessesary to ensure enough strength for the blower drive portion. Otherwise as stated should be ok.

Edit: should have read question closer as you mentioned double key for the crank hub. should be fine.

    cheers

if your timing gear is double keyed, just make sure you get it on the right key or you might end up with a lot of bent valves!!
